Eurekapride soon to have banner on the Chamber of Commerce !

:D This evening I gave a short presentaton to the Chamber of Commerce Board members. Lee and kel, Myra, and Frank joined me in a positive visit with them, about Diversity Promotion and Advertising through out the year in Eureka Springs, from the Chambers website. I will be buying a banner ad for Eurekapride, (making it a member of the Chamber), which means GLBT tourists can now find out about this website, and all of the GLBT owned, and GLBT Friendly businesses which welcome them to Eureka Springs ALL year long. This also gives the GLBT visitor information about Eureka's Events, which happen ALL year long.

This meeting was about more than promoting two Diversity weekends per year.......it was also about stressing the importance of letting the GLBT travelor know they are welcome in Eureka Springs, and how we can make their stay here, a wonderful experience anytime of year, and how the Chamber can provide information and assistance, by helping the GLBT travelor from their website. We are a very Diverse town, with so much to offer to GLBT vacationers ! :D Basically, we are saying, "come to Eureka Springs, feel at home, you're safe with us, to be who you are, or be who you want to be". We welcome all !

You have done so much for us in ES and we truly appreciate it. We have always loved ES and how we were treated, but some of our friends weren't sure....they have had some bad experiences. In the past (before you had eurekapride) some were a little skeptical and thought we were -blowing ES out of proportion-!! It is wonderful now that I can give them this site....and now the Chamber site and they will truly know that they are welcome!!

I think the GLBT communities across the country should know what is happening in Eureka, watch and take the notice. The community involvement and commitment to a common goal is fantastic. I for one really appreciate knowing that someone out there cares enough about the town they live in to step forth and do something so positive. The people of Eureka don't realize how special the GLBT is to them. Without your businesses and monetary support, I feel Eureka would dry up and blow away.
It is definitely a safe haven and a great place to be who we are. In this part of the country we really need a place like Eureka Springs - it's truly wonderful.
Hats off to those involved with the Chamber and making a real mark on the community you call home. We need more people like you across the country.
Come to Tulsa and give them some lesson on building a future within the city where you live.

Thank you for the great post. It is extremely important we get the word out about Eureka ! Many folks in the GLBT community are learning of it, but as you well know........the different organizations and groups of GLBT are phenomenal in numbers. It will take time and effort to let such a large GLBT population learn about us. I read your letter you emailed me to the Chamber, and how you would like to help in getting the word out in your area about Eureka and how GLBT friendly we are.

Thank you kris for your positive words, and your generosity in wanting to help us . We love ya, and can't wait to see you perform again at the Copa !
