I just visited Eureka for the first time this past week & fell in love with your city. It is beautiful & so was the drive. I would love to move there someday if possible. Am looking forward to meeting & making friends.

welcome aboard Dona!!

ES is a very diverse town and everyone is welcome with open arms as a general rule. My partner and I have been going to ES for about 7 years. It is truly a wonderful place to get away and be ourselves.

hope you get your wish of moving there someday!!

Everyone who comes to Eureka Springs says the same thing. That is the way my partner and I felt-we love coming there so we can be ourselves and just relax. We have been there twice and plan to continue coming back. Where all did you go while you were there? A few of my favorites are the Copa, Devitos, and Romancing the Stone. We have stayed at two different places, The Peabody House and The Tradewinds, both are fabulous. Hope to chat with you again.

Sorry for the delay in replying. My partner & I only had the one day (we are both city employees & there isn't much left over from paycheck to paycheck, lol) The drive took longer than the stay, but I loved every minute of it! I will be coming back for a longer stay as soon as I can! Hope to meet you all then. Donna

Hi Donna,
I certainly understand the $$ situation. You guys need to save up and come to Eureka Springs on Diversity Weekend....its the first weekend in November and April. It is an absolute blast. ES welcomes everyone and no one has to 'hide' who they are. Me and my partner have been enjoying it for several years. its not that we aren't out here at home, but out of respect for others, we keep low key in our actions (well kinda---we have some of the coolest hetero friends in the world) but in ES, we can just be free and have a wonderful time!!

hope you can make it back for one of the DW weekends. You won't regret it one bit!!!

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. When in November is it? Thanks so much for any details, Donna

DW is Nov 4-6.....and again the first weekend of April. If you go to the top of the page and click on the 'events' link, you will see the calendar. Lita does a terrific job keeping it up. As she gets things finalized or when she is informed of an event for the weekend, she will post it.

usually there are canoe trips, horseback riding, drag shows, bands, comedians.....and the list goes on! ( just look at the lineup from the past April)

If you enjoyed 1 day in ES....can you imagine a whole weekend that caters to 'family'!?!?! It is wonderful! We are planning on coming in Nov then on to tablerock lake for a week of fishing.....kind of an anniversary gift to ourselves. (anniv is Sept, but DW isn't until NOV--and we can't miss that ;) )

I certainly hope you can make it to a DW.....and I know you will find ways to return!!!!
