Lita is considering not renewing her lease for the Copa due to all the crap she's getting from the city. :evil:

Please, don't let this opportunity go by for us to show Lita that we love her and support her! We can't let our Copa die!

I've requested the names and addresses of those in city hall that we can bombard with letters. Once I get this info, I will pass it on to all of you. Please join me in papering city hall with letters of support for Lita.

Please Lita, the Copa is the main attraction that Lisa and I are looking forward to when we go to Eureka. We tried one other place there, I am not mentioning any names, and it didn't seem at all like where we would want to be. I am unsure of what all the trouble is, but please keep the Copa going!!

We will be returning for our third DW this fall. It is wonderfully to land in a such a diverse community atmosphere where everyone for one weekend makes us feel like we do fit in. Each time we drag more and more folks along with us. We hit all the places and find something and someone special at each of them. And most places are affordable.

What planning and organizing to put DW together is done is transparent to us. It ticks away so very fast while we are amongst it all.

Whatever Lita (we have never met) decides she has our admiration, respect and support...and a big HUG!!!

Now if some you girls decide to kick this Earls @#$! please make it a DW event I wanna be there. Did I say kick... I of course ment to say peacfully protest this @$#! :twisted:

I tried to go to the greekfest website and set up an account, but was unable to because it kept saying that email was banned. I did read some of what is going on and think that it is outrageous. Lita, I hope that things get better for you and you do decide to keep the Copa open, but as some of the other members have said, I would support your decision as well. All I can say is you have to keep the faith. If it is meant to work out, it will. We are still trying to figure out what we can afford dw but we haven't given up yet. I think we all need to make the most of the Copa though when we all get there. Hope to chat with you all soon.

I think in order to register with GEEKFEST, you will need a "respectable" e mail address, other than YAHOO or HOTMAIL etc..something about too much spam from those two..I suggest using an e mail adress from your ISP, such as ALLTEL or COX-INTERNET etc. Hope this helps

As for Ms Lita, good luck in your new direction girl! I don't blame you a bit for your decision. I my self am still pretty pissed off, as I am sure MANY of us are about this. Need a cooling off myself. Not yet sure how I am going to handle this. Good Luck girl! Love ya!

All is looking great for the Copa ! Also, I think it's pretty safe to say now, its just a matter of the paper work being final. I will still be there as an employee, nothing will change........except for the owners. The keys will be handed to them January 1st. Lots of rumors are flying, so I just wanted to let everyone know, no worries. Diversity will still remain a HUGE part of the Copa ! Be who you are or be who you want to be !
(now I get to be outta the kitchen and out there having fun with everyone) !!!!! Well, except for thursday, I told them I would still cook the crab legs ! lol !

My main focus after January 1st.......making eurekapride.com and Eureka Springs Diversity known NATIONWIDE ! Git-r-done !

By the way, I got issues of the Texas Triangle magazine in the mail yesterday. The ad is GREAT and all of the information in the article about Eureka Springs was taken off of this website ! It came out in their 2004 Dallas Pride issue ! What timing !

Tomorrow night is the big night. It's one thing to be a DJ, and have fun talking to people. BUT......I HATE having to talk in front of a lot of people, when it is a serious matter. I suck at it. I will be going to mom and dads later to "think", and write down everything I can think of, of matters which need to be discussed. It is so very important this mess gets straightened out, not only for me, but for the town as a whole. I hope the Mayor and Council are wanting to work with me on this......but so far....all I have heard is I am a thorn in "some" of their ass's due to all of the attention it has brought to City Hall, and their screw ups. Let us all hope and pray a few of them don't pounce on me............my evil twin doesn't come out very often, but she might if they get nasty about this. I know certain council members have been trying to help, and they want answers too, and ways to improve the current ordinances, etc. Not all of them are "out to get me". I appreciate the ones on council who are trying to get these matters resolved, and for getting me on the agenda.

A big thank you to all who have supported me through this. I guess we will find out tomorrow night if they are willing to accept the responsibility for their mistakes and make it right with me. :shock:
Future events in this town are at risk, if some of these rediculous ordinances and permit specifications do not change. :(

I cancelled mine and Frankies reservations for the Habana Inn in OK. City until tuesday. So, we will head out tuesday morning and stay till thursday. WOOOOOO HOOOOOO ! I LOVE the Habana ! A great place to advertise Eureka and Diversity !

Also, Dawn, I heard of a new place in Tulsa called the Majestic, which is downtown. I heard it would be a great palce to go and promote Diversity for Eureka as well. Paul said it's like walking into a New York City nightclub ! I am sitting here trying to think of when I can make it to Tulsa. If by chance, my plan falls through to get there, would you consider getting my posters up and business cards at some of them ? (I'll buy your tab on Diversity)....lol.

Yes, I found out through someone else in ES that it is not who I thought. I got a very solid clue, but I don't know who they are.

Will be thinking about you tomorrow night. Get up there and take charge! Don't let them think they can continue to get away with this. Aaron & Gayle will back you up, I just know it!

Of course I will, silly! No charge! I have actually been to the Majestic, although it was before they changed it to the club it is now. I don't go to the downtown clubs very often. We've had a lot of bad things happening lately in the downtown district as it's known. There's been several shootings and just 2 weeks ago, a guy was sucker punched, fell and cracked his head on the pavement, slipped into a coma and died 5 days later. Although none of this has been at the Majestic, it's all within about a 3 block radius. The last time I went down there was in July with my sister & my nieces. There was a shooting within a couple of hours after we left. It just makes me nervous! I will do a run in though to drop off posters for you!

If the sponsors that are doing the discounts that weekend can put together some type of coupons or flyers, I would love to get those out to the clubs here, too.

By the way, I also need to talk to you about something else for DW. I know someone from Tulsa that would really like to perform. I think she's great and would get the crowd going. I'll try to call you this week or if I don't get in touch with you, you know my number!

Has anybody heard any further on the COPA situation, are there going to be new owners? this has gotten kind of quiet. If anyone know anything, please tell. If for some reason this didn't happen I think we should plan the DW from helll for this November! A party of all party's!

Have you checked into what Assistant Chiefs make, not much baby, especially in aSMALL town. Anyway, I am sure you haven't heard, I told the board of directors and the fire chief to stick their politics in a more appropriate place than upside the back of my head!

I am free and figuring out what I am going to do when I grow up.

I would love to buy the COPA, that would be too cool, but, really, the finances just aren't in the right moon or stars.... LOL.

Maybe we will hear something soon! Lita is out of town until Thursday getting things ready for DW, so maybe she can enlighten us when she gets back on line! We will be in Friday afternoon, so meet you at the COPA friday night?????

what I can figure from Modays meeting is the City COunsil agreed to reimburse Lita the fee and the DJ cost, but the City Attorney thought they didn't have the authority to do that, so I guess it goes to small claims court. Apparently the City dosen't have the back up plan in case of lawsuit? I don't know I try to stay out of that mess. So she did good, but still not good. I heard Lita did a RAVE job on her presentation!

I think she going to stay focused on the DW and go from there....

Maybe she will get on a post today, if she gets back in time to post and get crab legs cooked!!!

I think we should plan on the DW party from hell either way, new owners need party? Loss of COPA definately needs party!!! Always a good reason to get together with great friends and party!
