Heavy hearted

First of all I want to thank all of you for the positive thoughts and prayers you've been sending my way.

My doctor finally called me about an hour ago and one of the lesions is Melanoma. I now have to go to a plastic surgeon to have a larger section removed and tested.

I felt pretty certain all along that it was going to turn out this way. It just didn't look right for about the past six months.

I'm having the stitches removed tomorrow and will be past the initial shock and will ask more questions. Right now I'm kind of a mess, but wanted everyone to know how much I appreciate you all.

Oh Dawn, I can't believe this. I thought for sure it would be nothing.

Oh my goodness, that was too funny!

Well, I'm back from the doctor. The stitches are gone and I've been refered on to a Dermatologist, but I'm not too happy about the choice. I am going to try to get them to change it to another Dr. in my plan.

The coolest thing that happened was my aunt was in the waiting room to see another doctor when I got there. I told Kel on the phone last night that one of the hardest things about this was that I couldn't pick up the phone and talk to my mom about this. She passed away three years ago last September. This is the first major thing I've had come up since then.

It was like she sent her sister to be there for me. I felt a lot better after seeing her.

Now, if I can just get them to send me somewhere else! My sister had a bad experience with the one they've chosen for me. I checked with our insurance person here and he said I have every right to ask them to change it. Keep your fingers crossed!

I know when you hear cancer, it is the biggest most awful word that a doctor can utter. But look at it this way, they have caught it early and this kind of cancer usually can be cured. As for changing Docs, you definatley have the right and then some. Even if they get you switched, you still have the right to other opinions from there - Remember We pay their bills, we get to be in charge!!!

I work with Docs all the time and they are woderful, but don't ever get to feeling you are not in control, they are there to help us!
