My friends and I are coming up to Eureka for DW and we wondering if someone could kind of tell us what to expect. Are there a lot of women there or is it mostly guys? And where do people normally stay? And just anything else that would help us out would be appreciated!

Janet,
There is LOTS of everything and everyone. Most pride events I have been to are mostly Gay Bois. Not ES on DW. There is this a huge mix of GLBT, Families of GLBT and NON GLBT Supporters. 8)
The FUN is everywhere. Check out the sponsors on this site for lodging. Check out the thread time to get a room
Be sure and come to the Outdoor Fest and introduce yourselves to Sparky and if you have a cute brother drag him along too

Hi Janet,
with this bunch of people you never know what to expect!
One thing for sure it will be fun!
There will be a LOT of women, probably not quite as many guys : and
one cute little pup in pink tights (HI Sparky) :wink
We have a great mix of people (all coming for DW fun) staying right here with us at Sherwood Court.
If you want to join us we had a cancellation for one of our cottages
(Courtyard Cottage, non-smoking, $ 89 per night) and we would love to have you stay with us. Call 1-800-268-6052 or email stay@sherwoodcourt.
We are kicking off the festivities with a Meet&Greet on our back deck
on Friday April 1st, 3 pm. Great opporunity to meet everybody and make new friends.
We would love for you to join us.

Hey Janet....
If you haven't booked yet....... there are some great ones available still.
if you have 2--try the Tiki Room at Tradewinds
if you have 4, try the ..dang it...can't remember--maybe Victorian--at Tradewinds....
if you have 6, look at the "Its Time ya'll! Get a room" topic...there is a whole house at 66 Center Street..
(if you want a little more quiet, romantic room---look at Pond Mountain)
these are all I've seen.....but I'm sure ANY room from the sponsors is great!!!!!

Hey, Janet - welcome!!!
As the others have mentioned, there is alot to do, just depends on what you're in the mood for (Oh, did I say that out loud?)
The outdoor festival is the first one for DW in ES, so it will be so interesting!!!!
Lots of food, fun and alcohol!!! LOTS of people. Drag show, Kind show and of course dancing and Karaoke with DJ Tic!
There is a shuttle bus that will be running so, no one has to drink and Drive - and we'll kick you're butt alittle if you do!
CJ Sprots is out towards the Beaver Damn and there will be signs pointing the way.
I would strongly suggest you go to Sherwood Court and
1. Book a room
2. Attend the meet and Greet on Friday at 3:00
3. Don't be shy - we are all crazy, but harmless
4. HAVE A BLAST!!!!
GOOD TO HAVE YOU ON THE BOARD!!!

Angelis, it's ok, never did learn how to type! I even got a new keyboard and it's not doing any better than the last one!

:D I mess up sometimes too. I took classes in high school and the teacher always told me that I watched my hands too much. When I am typing something at school now the kids all freak out because of how fast I type.

The only time I learned how to type was when I traded stocks for a brokerage firm and everything was done in 3 letter symbols! And I had to watch my hands....one little screw up meant a whole lotta money!
Hey, you figured out how to do the picture!!!

Hi Janet, you guys are going to love DW. My friends and I come up from Central Ark twice a year. There are alot of women there . We are staying at the Swiss Inn this year. First time to stay there, hope it's good. Just about any place on Hwy 62 (Van Buren)will be convenient to everything. The outdoor events should be fun this year. There is a great all girl band that plays at Chelsy's downtown. Don't miss them. If weather is good , look for us on our bikes. We have some single ladies in our group, how about you guys? Look forward to seeing you there. Darlene from Benton, Ar.

:D Lex-Lisa and I will be staying at Candlestick as well! We've never stayed there, but Dawn recommended them. We like to try and stay at different places to see which ones we like best. When we made these reservations, it was because we thought we could walk to the clubs because we don't drink and drive. Then, the Outdoor festival was born, but that's ok because we will be able to catch the shuttle. We haven't eaten at very many places, but we love Devito's for lasagna, Main St Cafe for omelets, and there is another cafe but the name is just on the tip of my tongue. Well anyway, can't wait to meet you all.
