I have to stand up for what I know and this one I know first hand. There was a mistake with 83 Spring Street and Gumpshun Gallery. Both of these places are owned by the same person and I am quite close to Jim Sanders. He is a good man and does not have negitive issues with GLBT.

The recient issue that was brought to light on Geekfest was handled in the only way possible. The employee of his that made the comments toward the customers was FIRED! I brought the post on Geekfest to Jim's attention and he is truly sorry that that ever happened. He is a gay friendly store and even has a gay man working with him. Please do not black list him for this little accident with the hired help. Jim Sanders owns, 83 Spring Street, One Trick Pony, Gumpshun Gallery, Magic Animal, and Knightly Rentals. He is a great person and I would do anything for him. Every year during our Christmas parade, Jim gifts all of the kids in the parade at least 1 stuffed animal and a good Christmas cheer. He is an asset to our little community. Thoses of you who know me personally know that I will not just jump in with out good reason. This is one of those times! Please spread the word and clean the names!

Jim Sanders does not care what color your skin is, what political views you have, what your sexual oreintation is, or anything else of that nature. All he wants to do is sell you wonderful artwork.

Thank You Cyber I will be in ES for the May Arts Fest and will seek out Mr. Sanders and thank him for his support!

I wish our board sponsors had decals or signs in their shops to let me know as a shopper and consumer they are board Sponsors. I doubt the general public would have a clue unless they too frequent this site.

:D Hi all !

Dave, as you know I usually don't allow names of businesses that are not sponsors to be advertised on this board, but I will in this instance. I have shopped at that business and actually bought a wonderful piece of art that now sits at my parents house. They were very nice folks when I was there, and I would want my name to be cleared if I were in their shoes as well.

A good idea. I wonder if the sponsors would be interested in hanging a decal in their store window if I ordered them ? Would you all like that ?

Lita,

I think the decals would be a great idea. I'm like Sparky I like to support business that are family friendly. It's hard to tell sometimes which ones are and are not so a simple little decal that everyone on here would know what means would be fantastic. That's why when my girlfriend and I take a trip to ES this summer we'll be staying at one of the lodgings listed on this site as a sponsor. Welcome back btw.

How about a pink triangle like the one used on the sponsors part of the site for GLBT owned.

Sounds like a great idea David :D ! Everyone visiting this site is use to seeing those pink triangles, and the decals would not be for just Gay owned establishments, but also the Gay friendly as well......plus, the folks visiting Eureka would know anytime of year which businesses help sponsor Diversity.

Now.....where do I get them..... or where do I go online to order them ?
Any ideas anyone ????

If I'm not mistaken, I believe I did see either a pink triangle or a rainbow triangle on the door at Quicksilver when we were dropping off the posters for DW, Lita.

I would check with them to see where they got it.

Just so everyone knows, the "black list" is not completed yet.

Thank you to David & Janice for making the needed correction to the list before we went public with it. This is the reason it's not done yet. We want to make sure before we make it available.
