:D Hi, Lita-I second that good to have you back!
Angela and Lisa
Just so everyone knows, the "black list" is not completed yet.
Thank you to David & Janice for making the needed correction to the list before we went public with it. This is the reason it's not done yet. We want to make sure before we make it available.

I am having mixed feelings about a list. I want so much not to see a witch hunt started from this. I know people that just do not want to deal with things in life from both sides of this issue. Some of us have a unique position in this game called life that lets us see a bigger part of the picture. This resembles a reverse prejudices situation and sounds bad.
I feel the need to express things in a positive light, you know the glass is half full. Readers please keep this in mind, I feel the way I do about this group that post and possibly lurk here because I see so many nice positive things. I want to keep things going in that general direction.
I understand the need for passing information about how someone was treated on to the next possible person to go there but this just feels like it is so negative and I struggle with a way to make it positive.

Family..... . . Someone please find the light!

:D Well, Lisa and I will go where we feel welcome whether it be GLBT friendly or not. In fact in the past we stayed in a B&B that was not family owned and not a sponsor. But, that was when we first joined the boards. We would probably go back to that establishment again because the hostess was very warm and friendly. We would just like to know what we could possibly be walking in to if we went into an establishment that wasn't friendly-we wouldn't be like banning them from our shopping excursions. Now, if I knew who the owner was of that other place, I would definately not go in there if it were the only store in Eureka Springs, because we "are cheap." Well, that is what the other person said anyway. Of course that is our opinion and anyone else can have their opinion-it's all good.
Also, we try to make purchases in sponsored businesses because they support us all regardless of who we are.

Hey Cyber,
The light I find in this is that it would help us to find out where in town we might possibly face public embarassment (some of us while we are proud of who we are don't want it annoucned to Tom, Dick, Harry, and their dog, no offense Sparky). I've been in situations where you could sense the tension and hate in a store so I try to avoid confrontation when possible. It just gives us a heads up before we enter that we won't be welcomed by this shop as much as we would be somewhere else. I understand where you're having trouble with this, it's a tricky thing. But as long as the list is used for good reason (ie avoiding bad situations for both sides) I don't see where it would hurt much.

   I just like to know where I am welcome and not welcome. To keep from embarassing myself and others. It is amazing business owners don't want Gay and Lesbian money but if that is the case I will proudly spend mine in the stores that do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
