When lookiing for new sponsors, one thing that I've noticed helping with other places is getting an idea of how many people might be interested in the service.
How many of you would be interested in getting massages while in Eureka?
And I know Denise did this once before, but what are some of your other favorite places in Eureka Springs that we could look into a sponsorship with?
I know y'all do shop. I've met most of you on the street somewhere. What stores tickle your fancy?

:P I like to get my massages privately done by my honey. We like shopping in Romancing the Stone, eating at Local Flavor and Main St Cafe. We have also stayed at Elmwood House and Peabody House.

P.S. I believe the other places we go are already sponsors.

My favorite place for a massage is the Palace Bath House and then also in my room (by my hubby) or we have had a professional massage set up in the room also ((and yes the name escapes me)) Renate will remember?!

 I wasn't sure that's where you worked. I even told Lisa that I thought we passed you on the sidewalk, but wasn't sure. Now we know.

My S.O. LOVES massages......but they kind of rub me the wrong way (oh god, I didn't say that out loud, did I?).
They've gotten so popular in the past few years, I'm surprised there isn't a massage therapist sponsor already!
I would think most any kind of sponsor would be a good thing.
Most of the stores I have visited in Eureka (that I remember the names of, anyway) already are sponsors. (actually, I don't think there's a store in town I HAVEN'T visited!)
Is there some kind of committee that encourages local businesses to be sponsors? I would think they would jump at the opportunity (?). If, for no other reason, it would be great for business at least 4 times a year.
I don't know.....maybe business is good enough without the sponsorship. Unless it costs them a whole bunch of money, why wouldn't they want to be sponsors???
Pardon my ignorance.....as a DW newbie, I have no idea how the whole affair is set up, what is required of local businesses, etc. It just seems - from the outside - that sponsorship would be a no-brainer.
Massages? Sure! Sounds like a good thing to me.

Yip you've asked the same questions that I did at first. There's no committee or hoops that have to be jumped thru to be a sponsor. Just the desire to become one. The costs are less than $20 a month. Most of the businesses I've contacted trying to help Sparky have been to say the least non responsive to my attempts.
For everyone who visists a sponsor please be sure to always thank them for being one. I don't think they hear it enough. And be sure no matter when you're there to tell them you found their store on the website. I appreciate everyone in the past who has sponsored. We're always looking for new ones.
I have the names down that you guys have shot at me so far, I still have to call a few to see if we can get them on board.
Angela what is the name of the club that you and Lisa go to? I was thinking about contacting them if you think it would do any good.

You got it. I'll be SURE to thank and mention!
$20 a month is pretty cheap advertising, I'd say.
For what it's worth, when I retire and move to E.S., I'll bring my printing press with me (yeah, I'm a printer. That's why my fingernails are always dirty.) and become a sponsor.
BTW, I'll probably be able to retire when I'm roughly 87 years old and no longer have the strenth to lift a ream of paper.
But I DO applaud your efforts. From what I've seen on this board and in person in town, I think y'all are doing a GREAT job!! Keep up the good (and probably thankless!) work!

:D Jamie-it is called Sammie's, but I don't know the exact address or phone number. When I have looked on the Purple Pages to find out, it isn't listed. When are you and Delana coming over? I'm running out of summer as you probably are as well.

LMAO that's good Yip. At the rate things seem to go no one will be able to retire till then. The thanks go to Sparky and Dawn the most. I'm just stepping in to give a hand while Sparky gets moved.
I'll look it up from there Angela. Thanks for the info. I know we're running out of summer. Probably is with all the other unexpected bills not sure we'll be able to make it this time. Will let you know if we get a chance.

For those who haven't had a chance to post yet, go ahead and add. From the look of it though I have the names to contact a few places to let them know, hey our crowd is there sometimes, how about sponsoring us since we support you. Going to work on getting a new massage sponsor since we don't have one anymore.
And lastly...go figure the lucky dawg gets a massage and a good time...how is it that I never did get that lucky? I got Delana and that was luck enough...curse enough for her

I know one person that is dying to get a massage, Melody. We've never really had the money to spend on one until now, and I plan on making sure she gets her first real soon

:D Sparky, how good a time did you have? :P Jamie, just let us know because you're always welcome. Did I tell you that the last time we went(we've gone 3 times) that the lady at the door said,"Do you know what kind of bar this is?" I guess we didn't look gay enough or something. Lisa said that she thought she was going to have to show her her gay ID. Also, Sparky, Dawn, Jamie or anybody, they also have drag shows and one of the queens stands out. Has anyone ever heard of Ashlyn Tyler? She does a lot of shows in Mo.
