Doc,
This is a shout out ( as the MTV youth say ) just to see how you have been. All is well here in Texas aside from 107 degree temps.
Yesterday we baked biscuits in the trunk of my car.
Too hot to ride, and anyway I need a new rear tire...

I thought I'd seen our lovely Doc lurking the other night, but then again lol don't remember a whole lot. C'mon Doc, we're missing those lovely posts of yours that give us all fantasies about women, chains, whips, handcuffs and etc....

HOT? nahhh..it aint that bad outside..I have been out working in the sun and heat..am building a patio out in my "campground"..am in the process of hauling about 8 tons of sand from the drive way to the camp site in the back yard, all a shovel full at a time! Am burning TONS of calories and sweating out all the body poisons one can in this heat..yes Cathy, it is WAY too hot to ride, especially when youre stuck at a LONG stop light! Know all abt them soft sport bike tires..only good for maybe 3500 miles..I run a hard compound dunlap on the harley and can get almost 10k out of it (rear)...softer compound on front and get abt 7.5k on that one..not much other than that going on here..for some stupid reason, this summer has been one of the tightest summers for us money wise...spent way too much money at bluesfest and then sharon crunched her car and we had to come up with funds for that and with her missing a cpl of days of work, and then some dentist bills, Dr bills etc..anyway tis tight here..and with gas being up so high and the vehicles I drive dont do well in the MPG dept..(I dont keep the harley here at the house as I have 4 miles of dirt road to get here, it is kept in town, 20 miles away thus I have to use one of the vehicles to go get it)..as for Sturgis, that begins 1st weekend in AUG, and nope, I wont be going this year..its on my list for next yr tho, along with several other trips..and thats abt it..Yes Ms Jamies, thoughts of sexy clad ladies in leather with impliments of restraint & pleasure within reach are never far from my mind
Cathy, keep me advised when you will be in the area up here, we need to discuss bikes and shaving techniques..

Doc,
Will Do!
I am attending Aug DW but will drive up car it cools down. My SO has
(just today) decided she can make attend DW after all. It's fortunate she was able to Clear Her Appointment book, but very unexpected based on earlier conversations.
While we're on the heat subject, Are you drinking plenty - of Water?
As a past dehydration patient I am compelled to remind people to hydrate. 8 tons of sand may need to be moved - And maybe it HAS to be you who moves it. Is there room in your project schedule allowing you to work slowly? I know how some men are about projects, my older bro is just so.
Anyway, enough mother hen.
Look forward to talking motorcycles with you. And Ride Safe.

Oh yeah, am no big hurry to get it all done in one afternoon..sand got delivered monday and there is probably 2 or 3 tons out there yet to be moved..did some shoveling this morning and am taking a cool down break right now (have been for over an hr now) getting ready to go back out and do some more sand moving..am BIG into the water guzzlin..when I started this project 3 weeks ago, I was 15 pounds heavier..this project has been VERY physical..I have had to go out and hunt up rock, both for fill and for patio surface...hauled in 14 rail road ties, which weight abt 275 lbs ea..had to do some digging to set the ties and set up for drainage etc..was sore the fisrt few nites but feeling better now..strong as a Bull right now..so anyway, there ya go..my life right now..cant wait to get back to resting up so fatigue wont set in!

Take care of yourself Doc. We've got to keep the doctor avaliable for house calls. I understand the heat. It's been really hot here. The worst part is the air conditioner where we work has been out the past few days. It would be different if they were actually trying to fix it. oh well.

Gas has ate us up too. We've cut down to $20 a week in my car for gas. That gets us to work and back and maybe two side excursions during the week. I start classes in 5 weeks and I'm dreading the gas for my car. (it gets about 30mpg) because it's 1/4 to class and back twice a week. Carrie I know is probably feeling the same thing.

We'll be up there summer DW Cathy, would love to finally meet you.

:D Doc, make sure you take it easy, you hear? Jamie, I sympathize about the gas; I get to do that a lot sooner than you might think. I have a 3 day workshop about an hour away on the 1st-3rd, then I start the following Mon for 10 days worth of inservice and then school on the 21st. Gas about ate me up last year. I tried to carpool last year, but that was a big ole mess. She and I just didn't gel and she was quite a bit nosey if you know what I mean. Anyway, talk to you all soon.

No need for the sun screen as all of the work I am doing is in the shade..yes it's still hot out there and am doing a fair share of sweating..I just did the math and I have shoveled close to 27,000 pounds of sand this week..am I feel it too..moving kinda slow on this end..some people pay top dollar for this kind of exercise! Tomorrows schedule has me out collecting more rock, most of that will be in the sun but the truck has a real good AC..figger I should have thos project completed saturday afternoon..WHEW!

Can't wait for the BIG weekend commin up! Am in need for some fun..Cathy, y'all stayin at the Tradewinds?? keep me advised.

Good Grief Doc!!!! Take it easy!!!!

It has been hot here too and its not helping the AC at work is not working. they dont seem to be in a big rush to fix it. They were mad b/c people were leaving early due to the heat. the combonation of heat and stupid homeowner questions keeps us all angry in the call center. I dont blame the folks for going home we actually didnt work late a night or two b/c of the heat. They actually did have a AC repairman in today though.

Dont work to hard and keep plenty of water with you to drink. Last summer I worked with a handyman and it was a pain it was so hot. I learned to keep tons of water and unsweat tea with me. I think that was the most fun i had in a summer in a while!!!! i really enjoyed the work.

TNX Angela! Was ALOT of physical work! Still have a few minor details to finish it up but I think it will do just what we need for it to do. Before I built this, the table sat at a slope and it was uncomfortable to sit on, now its level and the liquids will not be running down hill!
