Well, I have too say its been awhile since I have been in the forum, just crazy busy. I like what has changed very nice Sparky and Dawn...
I wanted too let everyone here in Eureka know of a possible Documentary production coming here. Since our 15 minutes of fame in the New York Times of the New Up and Coming Gay Meccas, World of Wonder Productions has contacted us and want to film a documentary here in Eureka on GAY GETAWAYS. They are sending a Prep Package of DVDs they have produced for HBO and Sundance as well. Will keep eveyone posted of the outcome. By the way they want to film about the Diversity weekends also and all the Gay owned and Gay friendly Business' in town...
Later
Tracey and Mark.....
Hey my darlings!
How are you boys? Thanks for posting, we miss you around here!
I'll be in town next weekend and will come by to see you on Friday.
Can you come out and play? We need to have another party at Frankies! Mark, I'll bring the shoes!

One of these days Hermit and I will put together a complete production for the past 3 plus years of footage we have been filming. The documentary has been in the works as a pet project for that long. This has been a slow project for us cause it does not pay the bills until done and can be sold. That makes a catch 22 out of it. Since to take the time to create a complete product, one could go broke with the amount of hours involved. Some day we will put out more than just the teasers we have already. May it do the Rainbow Family honor when we do publish? We at E-motion Works would love to correspond with any film crew coming in to town and help if possible.

wonder what the documentary folks will think of the many gay friendly and gay owned Eureka buisiness' in town that Don't support their own local pride board  I know many of then truely can not afford the $16.00 a month it takes to be a Sponsor...
so when you do make those reservations
and you dine out
or you make a purchase
REMEMBER
it is the SPONSORS (http://www.eurekapride.com/sponsors/)) that give us the funds
to reach out and tell the GLBT world about Eureka.
Attending our great Sponsor 'Divesity Pride' and their quality Events gives them funds to produce even more events for the GLBT community.
Sponsor Funds help all of us to promote and have GLBT specific Events, It Gives Eureka Pride the money to help co-sponsor Events along with Diversity Pride such as the Lucky 13 Outdoor Twighlight Diversity Cinema Movie 'Pillow Talk' with the BIG CASH PRIZES for the Doris and Rock LOOK-A-LIKE Contest!
The City has yet to make Diversity Weekends an 'OFFICIAL' event
no city funds promote Eureka as a GLBT travel desitnation or the Diversity Weekends.
Diversity Pride and the Lovely County Citizen
provide many that can not afford the $16 some dollars a month
to be a Eureka Pride Sponsor another option
printed adds that let the GLBT community know
who wants their QUEER DOLLARS!
Eureka is a great place! It is a a place that lets you be who you are!
When you Shop, Dine, Stay and Play
think of our sponsors (http://www.eurekapride.com/sponsors/) first!
We love all of them!
if you don't know who our Sponors are take a moment
and please check them OUT! http://www.msnusers.com/_Secure/0SgAAAAsXLXPVFovoCBFsFWnbxjWfMupdH6I9nao8tD5Bhubhm 5e5FCYuq7*1QHuolnXsfG3q3HxaelRIXHsrXIzUpbalrqX8xV1 0LUqg*SqIggIkKjI8lQ/click_here_2.gif (http://www.eurekapride.com/sponsors/)

Tracey,
Does this mean you do not want to return as a Sponsor :?
You are reading WAY TO MUCH into this.
I asked the DW guest to take notice of who our sponsors are.
I only ask that they take notice on who puts adds out there in The Gay Rags, The Lovely County Citizen and The Guide. Who puts out the Rainbow Flags , Signs on their doors, Hire Gay & Lesbian entertainers and Artist just for the DW.
Mark and You made it quit clear before that DW visitors did not support your Inn and that you had to focus elsewhere.
You even said goodbye and explained why to us all in a very nice open letter.
Well over the past year it has been fun being a sponsor on the Eureka Pride site. But for the most part, We feel as if we are left out. You see we are on the upper historic lop, not at all downtown near the bars and night life that people so want when they come for the pride weekends. And we, feel that most who attend those weekends are on a budget, and we are not for the budget minded, our rates are higher than the average motel or hotel, or cabin. So we are not going to be a sponsor at this time. We have sent Lita an email, without a response at this time. So happy booking to all the other lodging here on the site and keep up the good work.
Tracey and Mark
The Veranda Inn
Roger and I had planned to stay with you...
but we are 'budget minded'
your Inn is not for the 'budget minded'
or hmmmm did we read way to much into your post there
I even called Dawn and several others checking out the Inn as a Winter Holiday stay over...even after your budget remark  but we
recieved an invite elsewhere for that weekend and never booked

That what this is about, awwww come on guys. Don't leave here upset about sponsor talk. You are always welcome on the bbs, it is just board rules ask that those who are not sponsors, please do not post ads. Ads are reserved for paid sponsors as a perk to being a sponsor. Your input here is wanted, and welcomed. Please don't read so deep into it!!
Sparky

This old dawg is not local.
I had no clue that the Veranda Inn was Gay owned till I saw them as a Sponsor on the Eureka Pride Board!
They are probably right about DW crowds not wanting to stay with them. I like to stay down where the action is or out on the strip.... what THEY may not know is we ALL drive up that hill and we scope out where we want to stay when we make that return trip for a NON -Diversity WEEKEND!
The Veranda Inn is a Landmark in Eureka and it is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!
I am sure the Boys have their hands full keeping it looking at great as it does!
so i hope I didn't stick to many paws in my mouth and we know not everyone can be SPONSORS even though we want them to be
i enjoyed seeing you post after staying away such a long LONG way too long time.
I ribbed Tracey about coming back as a Sponsor and he gave me his song and dance and YES I want those who come to the PRIDE site to KNOW that Diversity Weekends and the upkeep of this site takes a lot of work and would not be possible if not for sponsors SO http://www.msnusers.com/_Secure/0SgAAAAsXLXPVFovoCBFsFWnbxjWfMupdH6I9nao8tD5Bhubhm 5e5FCYuq7*1QHuolnXsfG3q3HxaelRIXHsrXIzUpbalrqX8xV1 0LUqg*SqIggIkKjI8lQ/click_here_2.gif (http://www.eurekapride.com/sponsors/)YES....SHOP...DINE....PLAY...AND...STAY with our SPONSORS!

I would have liked to have heard more about the documentary, but I guess that ain't happenin'.
It's sad when moderators feel they must hijack a thread, which is exactly what has happened here.

yes Sam it was a tacky hijack
I now return it
what was the topic? a gay documetary on Diversity Weekend?

Our hold-up in putting our Diversity footage into a final mix is that we do not have rights to use the music that we recorded during the performances. These rights are often difficult and expensive to obtain (and if anyone knows a quick cheap way around this, I'm all ears, well, not all ears there are other assets).
To try to work around this problem, I am attempting to cajole local musicians into writing appropriate high energy music to set this footage to, so if you know anyone.........

I know that I don't post often, much like MOST of the Members of this board (look at the number of views for each post vs. the number of posts) but I gotta interject here. I very much wish this particular thread was in Cyber's World because I (for Tulsa Fun Girls' sake) am going to need to edit myself.
What the FECK, over?
Sparky tirelessly posts PR type stuff to keep this board afloat. If folks don't like it or so-called hi-jacking of threads there are ways to express that sort of opinion without being, um, well, sorry Denise can't think of another word PISSY. This is exactly the sort of attitude which has led to past divisions in the Community. Divisions which Sparky & Dawn seemed to have nearly overcome (not that I think the Princess could ever come too much ~ but I digress). If one has issues with this board then state them, or take your proverbial football and go home or Geekfest or pissyattitudes.com or wherever.
This is a pride board.
Yes, apparently we have a little difficulty thinking of things of which to be proud because not many Members actually post. Perhaps the past pissy attitudes (like "OHMIGOD a Straight girl can't run a gay board we need to create an additional board and more Drama") make it difficult for some Members to feel the sort of pride which leads to multiple-postings (even guys can achieve this, really). Perhaps we can follow Sparky & Dawn's example and continue healing past divisions, get past the pissy and move toward proud. Maybe we can foster an online community which will allow for even its most shy members to post more often and not just when outraged by pissy posts.
Concerning this documentary ~ there is, I believe, a Digital Film Festival held in Eureka Springs each year just prior to Fall Diversity Weekend. Perhaps some coordination and communication might occur with the folks who not sponsor but host the Film Festival. I also believe the city often works with film crews perhaps someone local will contact the proper city office and help entice these particular filmakers to town.
End of rant.
SparkySpark, I know it is hard ~ keep it up!

Wow,
A documentary on behalf of ES? Good for ES!
So what's the dress for Fall? I am generally casual, but if Company's coming, maybe I ought to stop by Mmouse's shops when I get to ES.
Are tiara's too much for day? ( small ones I mean ).of COURSE you wouldn;t wear a large one, that'd look silly.
Sparky
08-30-2006, 04:34 PM
tiara's OMG look out Princess Dawn will be stealing them!
YIP do you prefer the small Tiara's or the BIG ONES
I hate small tiaras, but I sure like their boyfriends!
Oh, no, wait.......that's size qu..... ummm, never mind.
I'll be wearing my string of day pearls.
Of course, after 7:00 p.m., I'll break out the really good pearls.
Oh, by the way, tiaras are sort of like a tastefully simple boa - - they can be worn at any time of day or night, as long as they are small enough that the wearer may enter The Lumberyard without ducking.
(That's a direct quote from the 4th printing of "Emily Post on Etiquette")
The documentary sounds NIFTY!!!

Randy from WOW www.worldofwonder.net is a very interesting film maker. Trans Generations IS HIS DOING! How Kewl is that?
He seemed to enjoy meeting our friends in Eureka and has several ideas on what he could or might film.
His next step is to present the ideas he might have in mind to a network and if they are interested then he will be back to film.
this may take some time so if and when he comes back may be in the future.
A big Thank You for the many that made time on a holiday weekend to come out and meet Randy when he arrived this past Friday.
I am sure he disvoverd OUR Eureka to be the warm, friendly and inspiring mix of characters that we all love so much.

now for some info for those of you who met the delightful Randy.
I pulled this info from Homeland Security 8)
Award-winning film and television directors/producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato founded World of Wonder Productions after meeting at NYU Graduate Film School in the late eighties. Bailey, a Brit hailing from London , and Barbato, an American from Jersey, formed the pop music duo The Pop Tarts, performing and deejaying in New York 's underground clubs. Their after hours shows in the East Village were the beginning of a fifteen-year collaboration in music, film, books, fashion, TV, and all things pop. With a bit of money they'd acquired in a music publishing deal, the duo was inspired to launch what would soon become the most cutting-edge production company in Hollywood .
In a market where so many have become like sausage factories, World of Wonder stands out as a totally genuine brand. -Broadcast UK
Award-winning World of Wonder has established a reputation for world-class documentaries and series tackling controversial topics in both an entertaining and sensitive way.
For more than a decade, the company has produced a wide variety of series and documentaries for a range of networks such as HBO, BBC, Channel Four/UK, Channel 5/UK, MTV, Sky, VH1, AMC, PBS, Cinemax, Showtime, Bravo, Court TV, Trio and Tech TV.
Randy Barbato
Managing Director
A foremost authority on pre-Revolutionary War America , Randy is the author of the best selling, "Stars, Stripes, and Stitching," which chronicles late 18th-century attire. A radical theorist, he contends that traces of the bikini are rooted in the Georgia colony, specifically in its capital, which he coined "Hotlanta." He also suspects Thomas Jefferson was a founding father of not only the Declaration of Independence, but of a new way of mustache grooming. In fact, Barbato writes that the facial hairstyle is called the goatee because when the future president lived in France , locals dubbed him "Gorgeous Tommy," for his handsome and unusual beard. Of course, none of this has ever been proven, and Randy never gets invited to the annual National Historian Convention.
