We're trying to decide if we should be open for Fall Diversity Weekend. We don't want to pull people away from other events or cause a conflict. Sparky and Debra, your thoughts???

We're also interested in knowing if there is an interest from the people coming up for Fall Diversity in attending Raycliff Manor. We've added a poll for your feedback. We appreciate any and all comments, suggestions, jokes, etc.

Thanks!

Kel

Kel, would it be a late night, "special time" event that could be scheduled into the weekend, or just run all day/night as usual? I personally would love to go, but have to work in my shop until at least 8PM on DW.

Kel,
as i have said from the beginning, and have often repeated...

the more voices, the more events, the better.
i BELIEVE in having as many 'magnets' that will attract guests and potential new residents! and i will happily support those that support us.

if we can reach visitors that like a particular kind of event, they may finally be enticed to come see what this magical place is all about and fall in love with Eureka like the rest of us.

yes, sometimes we will have multiple events competing for attendees, but in time, a wider spectrum of events will INCREASE our attendees. imagine what our numbers could be 5 years from now if we have a fabulous buffet of fun and interesting events.....

but a BIG key is REACHING OUT THERE and letting people know....in as many ways and as far as we can (not just within a 6 hour drive)

ADVERTISING is imperative. the 'Lavender media' and straight liberal media will LOVE discovering this unique oasis in the middle of the Bible belt! word of mouth is fabulous and the internet, print and TV media is hungry for ads and they will REWARD with extra little stories (so valuable and helpful). DPE has taken out as many ads as we possibly could swing. and we all must urge eureka include the 'lavender market' in their press strategy and budget. we certainly have earned it!

the New York Times article can be just one of many to come, if we all PULL TOGETHER. and i again ask if we could all form a co-op, alliance, or whatever, that would allow an OCCASIONAL gathering to strengthen our commitment to each other, our visitors and our town.

so heck yes Kel! and it's good to have some good lead time to promo. i hope u and Lee do decide to do it!

AMEN! HALLELUJAH! GLORY BE!
caution on those MORE EVENTS
much rather see us have fewer
WELL ATTENDED QUAILITY EVENTS then Lots and Lots of poorly attended events

...with just 2,700 guest rooms and 124 B&B's we will never get to awfully big but Gosh-oh-golly-gee-whiz we sure are getting there fast.

A DW SCREAM just after halloween has my support

Thanks Deb and Sparky! We really appreciate it! As long as we just break even on DW while providing another event for the DW visitors, we'll be happy. We've been asked a lot why we don't stay open for FALL DW in the past, but we don't want to pull people from other events. Payroll is going to kill us, but if we get enough people to support the event, we can go at it again next year and maybe for the Spring DW. We're in it for the long haul! DW's are getting bigger and bigger every year! It's a great thing! :D
