Last night around 11 PM at a bar in Tulsa (NOT the one I work at), a woman leaving the parking lot on a motorcycle, laid it down in the street causing a head injury. Four good Samaritans rushed to her aid and were hit by a speeding (and assumably drunk) driver, killing all five of them. The driver never even slowed down. Tulsa Police are still searching for the truck.

The local news stations websites and the Tulsa World website have not released any names yet, but I would like to ask you all to send your thoughts, prayers, hmmmms this way please.

I am very concerned that the owners of the bar are among the dead. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to contact them. They are a couple in their early 30's and she is pregnant. I met them at their grand re-opening, they just purchased the bar this past summer.

This is such a tragic incident.

Thats terrible! Probably an illegal heading out of town in a hurry towards AR. I sure hope they catch the murderer!

Fortunately, the driver turned herself in on Saturday morning. It appears that the owners of the bar were not among the victims, thankfully.

Here's a link to one of our local stations with an interview:

I am willing to bet that her drinking days are OVER!

I think so, too, considering she's got a $175,000 bond. Don't think she'll be having one mixed Vodka drink at home followed by six beers and two shots. That's the news report this morning.

That's terrible! Don't mean to step on any toes, but why the hell do people get out and drive after drinking? That's why Lisa and I like to stay where we can walk anywhere we want to go when we are in Eureka. When we are out around home, one of us is usually the designated unless our friend goes whom doesn't drink.

I found out today that one of the victims, Shannon Lacey, was a tattoo artist at a shop that is owned by the bar owners. I didn't know him personally but he was a friend of a friend. He was a very talented artist who was just building his career legally now here, since Oklahoma just this year legalized tattooing.

I think she was the woman on the motorcycle that tipped over. Her husband was also killed. Her poor children have lost their mother and their step-dad.

Denise, is that school near you?

no, and it's not one my kids attended.

Ok, I knew there was one in your neighborhood and thought maybe Georgie's kids went there now.
