Friday- what'cha doing?

How's evyone doing today? Hope you are all safe and warm. Far as I know power is still out back home. Looks like we will be buying a generator in 2008.
Down here it's been a week of wildly swinging temperatures and temperaments.
My brain feels like it's been beat with a bag of oranges!
Here in the land of the free and the home of the 64 oz 'regular' sized drink there's fun on the horizon. The yearly Toy run, the big one, is Sunday.
Riders gather out West in downtown Fort Worth,East in downtown Dallas, - and starting this year, from the North in Grapevine. We allll meet in the middle at the Ballpark in Arlington
where the toys are collected. There are kid activities there - vendors and such.
The sheer number of bikes gathered are part of the draw for me. Being a closet Heavy Iron girl the cruiser faction is by far the best part of the show.. Eventually I will own a Harley. Cruisers, touring rigs, dual sport, scooters, sportbikes - It doesnt; matter.
Sidecar hacks, homemade contraptions. There's always 1 guy on a trike with a VW engine. I've photographed him 3 separate times in the last 6 years! There's a group of Boss Hoss owners - Chevy V-8 stuffed into a frame. Regardless - everyone just gets together and grooves. Leather, denim, chrome - three of my favorite things - is everywhere. Some of the few things I am attracted to.Woof. Likewise, young cats and kittens in futuristic textile wear, riding tricked hi-hp sportbikes. Stuntaz prowling the desserted parts of downtown looking for a place to show off. I take tons of pics.
Elsewhere, there's.................................Not really anything noteworthy for me.

Nothing much here in Northeast Arkansas..I'm trying to get over being sick. I'm also waiting to pounce on the computer when 3:00P.M. Central time gets here because that is when I can view my grades on line. :oI hope I'm not surprised in a bad way today. So for the weekend, pretty much hanging around the house is what is going on here.

Woo Hoo! I FINALLY have power again as of 1 PM this afternoon. Mine went out sometime between 2 and 8 AM on Monday.

I've been living either at my niece's house with up to 15 other family members (including at one point 5 kids between 4 & 13 yrs old) and my boyfriends house.

We have about 15 electric company workers from out of state staying at the hotel where the bar I work in is. I waited on six of them last night giving them above and beyond service - don't read too much into that! My Jason was at the bar last night! Anyway, they asked me for my address and promised that I would have service today. Thank you God, they turned the rest of my complex back on today. It was really frustrating that my building and three others around me were the only ones not on, everyone else has had power in the complex since Wednesday.

I'm hoping to get my sister's power restored after waiting on the guys tonight so that my family can get back to some form of normality! LOL

Oh, by the way, I did try to call Denise's cell phone yesterday and got no answer. Last I heard from Sparky yesterday, she was stuck in Chicago after the cruise. Anyone heard from her yet???

I called Denise again on my way to work and she and Matt are home. Everyone else was able to fly back into Kansas City on Sunday but Matt and Denise didn't get back to Tulsa until Tuesday. She is still without power as of this afternoon. Since there's no update from her, I am guessing she's still without it.
