Good morning,
I'm building a document to present to some gender enhanced sisters in Fort Worth.
next month. If you are interested and believe you can add content here's the info.
The subject ( naturally ) is transition. More specifically what about transition was harder, or hardest for you?
What coping mechanisms did you employ/are you employing during yours?
What worked, and what didn;t?

Cathyb59@sbcglobal.net - if you want to send information privately.
Either way thanks,
Cath

Hi Cathy:

I could right a book on it, but I will save you that now. :) Some simple things I have learned.

1. Don't lie to yourself, becasue if you are not honest with yourself, people will sense it and think you are lying to them.

2. Accept yourself, before you can accept others.

3. Just because it works for one, does not mean it will work for you.

4. Have a plan to meet you goals.

5. Don't be afraid to ask for help, it is a tough road alone.

6. Don't let others tell you how you should be, because you are the only one who knows who you are.

7. Why to you have to obey gender norms when you are breaking what society thinks is normal anyway?

8. Those who try to put you in s box have never stepped out of theirs.

9. Trying to fit in usually sets you apart.

10. Wear comfortable shoes. :)

Joney;
Thanks for contributing your knowledge on behalf of this presentation. Our kind of wisdom is so costly, so hard won. Sharing it with others helps me justify the trials and tribulations.
2,3,4,5, and 7 are especially meaningful to me. #5 rings true - Going it alone has been my m.o. forever, so asking for help was hard. I rarely go to group, preferring to research and find my own answers. I still see the Dr periodically. All this to say I should Heed some of the advice I am pitching and again I thank you.
Have a great weekend.
Cath
