I know Eureka Springs has adopted Domestic Partnerships. Will they recognize My marriage from California ?

Good question. If you are married to another of the same sex, it would be nice to come and see if you can get a DPR. If they deny you a DPR because you are married, that would set precedence of recognition of gay marriage. If you tell them you are same sex married and still want a DPR then by law they should give it to you.

I thought the marriage would trump the DPR. Wrong:confused:

That is my point, if it is a same sex marriage and reconised else where and you come here, they should not recognize it and let you get a DPR, if they do deem you married, then it sets precedence. Arkansas would then recognize same sex marriage.

I know Eureka Springs has adopted Domestic Partnerships. Will they recognize My marriage from California ?In answer to your question, no. The voters of Arkansas recently passed a constitutional amendment prohibiting official recognition of same sex marriages performed either here or in other states.

If you want to get a Domestic Partnership Registry here, there's nothing stopping you from doing that.
The only requirements are:
You are in a relationship of mutual support, caring and commitment.
You are each other’s sole domestic partner and intend this relationship to continue indefinitely.
You are both at least 18 years of age.
You agree to notify the City Clerk of the City of Eureka Springs of any change in the status of our domestic partnership.
You apply in person at Eureka Springs City Hall, Mon-Fri during business hours.

Here's a DPR application form (http://www.cityofeurekasprings.org/DPRapp.html).
